Following is a email we sent to the ECF list on Friday 11th September 2015, seeking co-operative clients:

Subject: Hiring: Wanted: organisations needing co-operative sysadmin assistance - any city - any country

We are an ethical, multi-stakeholder internet co-operative with capacity to take on additional sysadmin work.

You are a progressive organisation, wanting to work with affordable, ethical and reliable partners, and you need help installing and / or maintaining one or more free, open source, software applications and / or servers.

We are seeking additional organisations, who would be willing to join our co-op, who we can openly and co-operatively collaborate with to ensure that their free software internet applications are installed, configured and secured correctly and well maintained.

Examples of free software applications we have extensive experience of setting up, maintaining and securing include:

Examples of clients we are seeking are the Transition Network and CRIN (Child Rights International Network).

"We have been working with Web Architects for five years for hosting of our main domain, administration areas, multiple micro-sites, and other servers. They have always been reliable, friendly, professional and efficient. They have great advice about what software and services to use and constantly encourage us to use Open Source Software. They are passionate about the same issues as us, and we have enjoyed working with them from the word go."

Ed, (former) transitionnetwork.org Web and Communications manager

For these two clients we maintain multiple virtual servers and document all our work and time spent on tasks on open Trac sites, feel free to browse the documentation and tickets on these sites to get an understanding of the type of work we do and issues we deal with:

We don't have in-house web designers at the moment but we have undertaken design and development work in the past and have a very good understanding of the technologies and protocols involved and have contributed to many open source web projects over the years. We have extensive experience of working on projects of this nature, and we are happy working with other web development agencies.

We have lots of experience of setting up and maintaining servers running many versions of GNU/Linux and BSD, but generally use Debian and Ubuntu. We have used the Apache and Nginx web servers for different projects and are happy configuring either.

We have our own hardware in Sheffield (sustainably powered by Good Energy) and virtual servers in Iceland, and we are also happy to work on servers hosted by others.

Our price for time based work is £42 per hour and we charge out in 15 min increments for members of our co-op, which clients are welcome to join:
