The Webarchitects and Ecodissident shared hosting servers are not set up to allow the use of cron, however this can be worked around by triggering tasks based on accesses to your website. One tool that can be used for doing this is the GPL’d phpJobScheduler.
The Ecohost ISPConfig servers have a web interface for creating and editing cron jobs.
